SARBA SIKSHA ABHIJAN (120/150 WORDS
In India, many boys and girls do not attend school. So, a campaign 'Sarba Siksha Abhijan' has been taken up with a view to bringing all boys and girls to the fold of the schools. The government of India and the State Government both have jointly come forward with financial assistance to make the scheme a success. To implement the scheme new classrooms have been annexed with the existing ones to accommodate new students. A number of teachers are being appointed to teach the new entrants. A special grant for books was given to the school to purchase books for the poor boys and girls. The syllabus and examination system has been revised and simplified so as to enable the students to cope with the subjects and learn them easily. In addition to that, mid-day meals for the students up to class VIII are introduced in the school to attract poor students who do not have food in their families. As a result of these measures, enthusiasm among the students grew to come to school and continue their studies. The number of drop-outs has decreased and an increasing number of students have started attending school. The prospect of the scheme appears to be bright, Attention of the parents is also necessary to bring about the success of the scheme.
