Sub- Lack of Awareness About COVID-19.
Respected Sir,
I
shall be highly obliged if you kindly allow me to have a little space in your
widely circulated daily to express my concern about the problem faced by us due
to lack of awareness about COVID-19 among the people of our locality.
COVID-19 is a viral disease caused by the newly
discovered coronavirus. Coronavirus is transmitted to one's body from an infected
person. It has been declared as a pandemic by WHO. Some of the illiterate
people of our locality are not aware of the transmission of coronavirus. They are
not maintaining the guidelines given by the WHO to avoid Corona disease. They do
not use and wear masks even when they are in crowded areas. They neglect to
use hand sanitizer and wash their hands when they come home from their workplace. They do not maintain the guidelines of WHO for maintaining social
distancing. At least 10 people in our locality tested COVID positive. But the
other members of their family do not keep themselves quarantine for at least 14
or 15 days. It may cause a great transmission of coronavirus among the people
of our locality.
We
have appealed to the police station and the local health department again and
again but in vain. So, I resort and request you to write a strong editorial in your esteemed daily on the above-mentioned subject so that the administration
will do the needful and take necessary action to make the people of our
locality aware of COVID-19.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Mahib Mandal
